All of my puppies are sold as pet
quality. This does not mean that they wouldn't do well as show dogs, it is just that I don't show my dogs, the cost
of showing dogs is substantial and would greatly add to the cost of the puppy. That is why all of my pups
are listed as pet quality. There is nothing inferior in the genetics of my puppies, as I have been very selective
in the breeds of dogs I have chosen.
All of my pups are wormed at 4,
6, and 8 weeks, they receive a Neopar(parvo) shot at 6 and 8 weeks, the large breed pups get a Vanguard 5 shot at 8 weeks.
It is also good that you do
some research before selecting a breed of puppy because of the special needs of each breed, for example, the Boxer needs to
have a warm place to live, on the other side, the Siberian Husky can tolerate the coldest of temps and even when they have
a house, they choose to remain outside. A Husky also sheds a lot, so this is good to keep in mind if you are looking for a
dog to stay inside.
Another thing that you must know is that
a puppy is just like a baby and needs it's sleep, too much playing and lack of sleep can harm or even kill a young puppy.
I only use Tradition dogfood for my large
breed dogs, it is a no soy food product, I purchase it at Hubbard Feeds or Agri-Tech in Watertown, South Dakota, it is
found mostly in the midwest or plains states. You can also go to hubbardfeeds.com and see if this product is available in
your area, I use Pedigree for my small breed dogs, other dogfoods I have been told by new owners that have not affected
their new additions are Eukanuba or Iams, a lamb and rice product is also easier on the tummies. For the large breed dogs,
I have had new owners also tell me they have used Blue Buffalo or Nutri-Maxx and have been happy with these brands also, these
last 2 brands can be found at Petsmart or Petco.
